Money Saving Monday "Moneyday"

12 Oct

Ok, lets face it, kids are expensive. Everything about them is designed to empty your wallet. They need special food for the first year or so of their life, and for those who don’t breast feed or don’t have the time or inclination to puree fruits and veggies, that special food will cost a small fortune. Then you have the diapers, 20 cents a diaper doesn’t sound like much until you see just how many you have to use. My kids always seem to poop immediately fallowing a diaper change. Moving on to the clothes, my boys have plenty of things that have only been worn once or twice since they grow so darn fast. Oh, and the “gear”, strollers, highchairs, car seats, pack n plays, baby gates, bouncy seats, the list is dizzying.

I’m always looking for ways to save on kid’s stuff, and on one of my many hunts I found a new website; KidSurplus.com. They’ve got it all, from clothes, to gear, even maternity, and it’s all new and brand name. They don’t have the biggest selection in the world, and they don’t carry every brand (Graco was noticeably missing), but you can really save on what they do have. If you’re like me and like to buy a lot of the kid’s clothes out of season, KidSurplus.com has some great summer stuff on sale for as much as 85% off!. Carter’s blanket sleepers for the winter are only $8.99, so even their in season stuff is reasonable!

When you spend $50 they give you a coupon code for $5 off, not too bad. They even have pretty cheap shipping at $8.95 flat rate or FREE for orders over $99, there are restrictions so make sure you read the fine print.

Check out KidSurplus.com and let me know what you think, I know I’ll have it bookmarked.
