Wireless Wednesday…Why my iPhone 3Gs ROCKS!

As a mother of two adorable little boys, having a video camera at my beckon call is pretty important. I never know when they’re going to start doing something cute that Daddy might want to see. With my iPhone 3Gs I now have EVERYTHING I could possibly need, all within my reach. I can keep track of my life, make a call, send an email or text, take a picture, and now video the precious moments that only a SAHM gets to see.

One of my favorite parts of the video camera is the ability to trim the video before you send it. Now friends and family don’t have to sit through 2 minutes of me coaching Logan to say Mama, they can just see him actually saying it. The down side to the trim feature is that once your video is trimmed, there’s no turning back. I found that out the hard way when I just wanted to send Bill a snippet of a Logan video and when I went back to see the whole video and found out it was gone, I was pretty upset.  Rumor has it that in the next software version (3.1) that will all be fixed and you’ll be able to save the trimmed video as a separate video from the original.

Another exciting video addition is on facebook. With the latest update of the facebook app you can now upload video right from your 3Gs. I see lots of fun videos coming to my wall in the near future.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, I’m going to have LOTS of opportunities to take videos of the boys doing all those great holiday things, most importantly opening presents. My Christmas wish for my 3Gs would be the ability to zoom, and I mean really zoom, not just make the picture bigger. I’m sure my next iPhone will have that ability.
