Snow Blows!

5 Feb

I have to be honest, I am not excited about this snowfall, not one bit. There’s something a little unnerving about expecting up to 18 inches of snow while hubby is a few thousand miles away. Usually when Bill goes away, I still have my parents to talk to and visit so I don’t lose my mind. Not this time, they’re away too.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get to go some place sunny right now?!?

Yesterday I braved both Target and the grocery store to make sure I was stocked for the weekend. I didn’t want to have to leave the house since I have to take the kids with me. This morning I braved the INSANE crowds at Giant for the 2 things I forgot yesterday, only to find out that I’m almost out of bread and we used the last of the honey the other night. UGH!

So far, the boys have been little angles. Well, that is with the exception of Logan trying to play with the cord to the TV. I really hope that they stay this way while Bill is away so I don’t have to head straight to the rubber room when he gets home.

Since my parents are also away, I have the responsibility to make sure their driveway is clear from snow when they get home. Normally, Bill would take care of it, but of course he takes off on me when we’re about to get almost 2 feet of snow! Thanks big sis for living an hour away, off the hook again.

I’m what one might call a girlie girl. I don’t like bugs or dirt and most days I’m lucky if I can change a lightbulb. I was fortunate enough to marry a handy kind of guy, so I don’t have to be a DIY kind of girl.

Remember I said I had to clean my parent’s driveway? Well, their driveway is looong, and it’s a huge hill. Shoveling 18 inches of snow could take hours, if not days. Lucky for me they have a snowblower.

Wait! I have no clue how the hell to use one of those! Let’s not forget I will have to move Mom’s car to get the damn thing out of the garage in the first place.

Looks like I’m going to have to put my big girl pants on and do some manual labor. I’m hopeful that I will be able to walk away from this experience with all my limbs intact. If not, I might have to find a new way to blog. Voice software??

Enjoy the snow! Stay safe and warm!
