It really is always something

15 Mar

I’ve been completely off the grid for three days and it might as well have been three years. Three days without Twitter, facbook and blogging, oh my.

If you’re looking for a sure fire way to lose those pesky last five pounds, I’ve got a way for you. Pick up some kind of stomach bug. I’ve been hearing about women all over the country injecting themselves with pregnancy hormones and starving themselves to lose weight, this way seems much safer.

Besides my (temporary) weight loss, the only up side of my weekend in bed was the amount of sleep I got. Although at this point, I don’t feel like I got any extra sleep.

The down sides of spending the weekend sick in bed all weekend were many. The amount of laundry that has piled up is insane, we’re all lucky we have clean underwear here. Last week my plan was to spend Saturday doing most of the laundry, well that didn’t happen. I did start to make my way through the laundry yesterday, but I still have a LONG way to go.

Along with my mountains of laundry, Sunday is my grocery shopping day. Needless to say that didn’t get done either. Bill, God bless his soul, took Cameron after school to the food store. Let’s just say there’s a reason I do the grocery shopping for the family. I guess I can give him some credit, he did save a little more than 20%, which isn’t too bad for not using a single coupon. BUT we are fully stocked in the junk food department. Oh well.

Bill did  a good job as Mr. Mom this weekend, the house is still standing. Sure, there’s play-doh all over the rug in the kitchen, but the kids were (for the most part) quiet so their Mommy could get her rest.

I’m still not feeling 100% yet, but I don’t have a choice but to start getting stuff done. Mom’s don’t get sick days.
