The Mommyland Farm (Volume 2)

1 Apr

Well, this early spring weather hasn’t been very cooperative when it comes to our garden. With daytime temperatures in the 40’s, and SNOW this morning I’m beginning to wonder if we’re ever going to get this garden built.

Bill had borrowed a rototiller, but it wasn’t very successful. We need more power! Of course as soon as we were ready to go rent what we needed we had a cold snap and the ground froze again. I guess we were lucky we didn’t have everything built and planted after all.

We wanted to be ready when we did finally get the garden built, so we planted our seeds in trays to get them started. So far so good. We have carrots, cucumbers, pumpkins and marigolds (to keep the groundhog away) sprouting in my dinning room. I’m so excited to have not killed anything…yet!

This weekend it’s supposed to warm up a little, so I hoping we can get the equipment we need and get this garden built and planted.

Below I’ve included photos of our process here at The Mommyland Farm. Click on the pictures to enlarge.
