A Week In Mommyland (Week 12)

25 Mar

OK, I have to admit, this week went by super slow while I was actually living it. Looking back now it seems to have flown by, but man did it take me a while to get here.

Most of the week Cameron had half days for parent/teacher conferences and it’s always an adventure having both of the boys home together. Cameron’s conference wasn’t all bad but it wasn’t all good either. I guess the most important part to remember is that academically he’s doing great, we’ll iron out the rest.

Now on to the rest of the week.

Monday.

Mommyland

I’m a little frustrated with my shoulder, whatever I’ve done to it has really slowed me down. I’m trying to push through it and at least get some training in but I haven’t been able to do my long runs.

Thankfully I go to the doctor this week to find out what is wrong and how I make it better. I am hoping to be able to resume my usual training this week so I can keep building up to that 10 miles.

Bill got me these super awesome “In Training” shirts to cheer me on. I love that guy!!!

Tuesday.

Mommyland

Here is something I really don’t need in my life but would love to have.

The powers that be within our association nearly pooped when they saw this giant chocolate bunny hanging out inside our Y. Let’s face it, he’s not really promoting a healthy lifestyle at something like 135,000 calories.

Gilbert, as he was so lovingly named by the awesome front desk crew is about three feet tall and weighs about ten pounds. YUM!

We’re raffling him off of a good cause though. All the proceeds from Gilbert go to the Good Kids Campaign which helps kids who couldn’t afford things like camp, swim lessons and sports get involved.

Wednesday.

Mommyland

In my next life I would like to come back as a cat. Seriously, Nittany has the life, she goes from sunny spot to sunny spot sleeping all day long. Even in the heat of the summer you will find her lounging in the sunshine.

I guess even cats need their vitamin D.

Thursday.

Mommyland

Just yesterday the cat was laying in the sun and today we have a snow storm. Apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that it is now spring.

While we’ve gotten little to no snow all winter I’m more than ready for the spring. I’m tired of the cold and want to be able to enjoy more time outside.

Friday.

Mommyland

I was shocked to get my mail and find this Tiffany keychain engraved with my initials waiting for me. Almost as awesome as the gift was the card.

Three of my friends, who are scattered across the country, conspired to get me this gift and they sent the card to each other so they could all sign in and send me a little note.

Their kind gesture made this one of the best birthdays ever and it hasn’t even come yet. It also ranks in the top two nicest things my friends have ever done for me for my birthday.

I was shown what true friends really are.

Saturday.

Mommyland

According to the calendar spring arrived this week, Mother Nature has other plans though. With cold weather hanging tough and snow on the way, there is only one place I know of to get that taste of spring I’ve been longing for.

Longwood Gardens!

We’re all sick of being stuck in the house so we ventured over to Longwood to take in the sights and smells of spring. The boys love to sniff the flowers and take photos of their own and they never get tired of going there.

Sunday.

Mommyland

My mom got me this mug to be funny but there are some days that I feel like truer words have never been spoken.

Eh, life is hard but it’s totally worth it.

How was your week? Did you have any photo worthy moments? I’d love to hear about the fun that you and your family had together.
