A Week in Mommyland (Week 9)

4 Mar

I feel like I got absolutely nothing accomplished this week. I missed three workouts, my house is still a mess, the laundry is piling up, what did I do this week? Oh well, I guess we all have those nonproductive weeks sometimes.

Here’s a little peek at what I was up to.

Monday.

Mommyland

Sometimes my job at the Y is pretty cool. I have an awesome new boss who is really involved and has some great ideas to make our Y even better. If it’s even possible to be better than #1 in the country (for four years running).

Really all of the people I work with are wonderful and they’re a big part of the reason I’ve stuck around.

Tuesday.

Mommyland

Cameron had his followup appointment for his fall last week. A second set of x-rays confirmed that all is well and there will be no lasting damage. The dentist did put him on some antibiotics and the sores in his mouth cleared up right away.

I still can’t believe how lucky we got that Cameron wasn’t more seriously injured.

Because Cameron was such a good patient he got some new teeth while we were there.

Wednesday.

Mommyland

Cameron has Spanish class once a week and I really get a kick out of the work that comes home. Here he had to draw who he lives with and if you look very carefully you can see he drew his brother, himself, his father, his mother and the cat.

Don’t worry, our house isn’t that colorful.

It’s really interesting that the teacher only speaks Spanish for the while class. I don’t even think my high school Spanish teacher did that. In the area we live in being able to speak Spanish is a big asset, so Cameron is well on his way.

Thursday.

Mommyland

I always say that Logan is my favorite lunch date but when he’s grumpy I’d rather have lunch with anyone else. I thought that he’d be excited to go see Daddy at work and have some lunch…WRONG!

In all fairness, I think he was fighting off a little cold and he has yet another stye in his eye, I guess I’d be grumpy too. He did eventually eat his lunch in the car on the way home. He also took a nice, long nap.

Friday.

Mommyland

Pizza Friday may just be one of my favorite days of the week. Lately we’ve been getting our pizzas from Costco and I would highly recommend it. This week we had a margarita pizza for the adults and a cheese for the boys. I could eat the margarita pizza everyday it’s so yummy!

Getting the pizza from Costco and baking it at home is much more budget friendly than hitting the local pizza joint and I think it might even be better.

Saturday.

Mommyland

We had a family fun day on Saturday. We started with new shoes for the boys and a replacement iPhone for mommy. Then we had lunch out before heading to one of those indoor arcade/fun zone places. I’ll admit, places like that totally gross me out and I feel the need to bathe in alcohol after but the kids love it.

We rode the bumper cars and played a few games together. The boys wanted to play every single racing game there. We did let them go head to head on snowmobiles and it was hilarious. I was actually pretty surprised by how good they were, they both placed in the top five.

After the family playland and sanitizing in the parking lot we visited Gma and Gpa, had ice cream and cheese fries for dinner. Both kids were out cold in the car on the way home which is always the sign of a good day.

Sunday.

Mommyland

One of my favorite things to do with the boys is Pillow Talk. I lay in bed with them for a few minutes at bedtime and talk about the day. It’s a nice way to wind down at the end of the day and remember all the fun things we did together.

Logan has a cool stuffed dog that projects stars on his ceiling, I could lay there and watch the colors change all night long.

I’m looking forward to a new week and a chance to do things better. What are you looking forward to this week?
