A Week In Mommyland (Week 32 & 33)

21 Aug

Yes, I’m playing catch up by combining two weeks. Honestly, weeks 32 and 33 were pretty uneventful here since I was down for the count with some kind of respiratory bug.

Week 32 was when I started to take a downward slide. It all started with a little tickle in my throat and progressed from there.

Monday.

Mommyland

This was the last day I was feeling really well. I had an amazing run and was loving on my new shoes. I ran just short of 8 miles with a 8:34 average mile and I felt GREAT!

Tuesday.

Things started to take a turn on Tuesday. I was fine all day and by the time I got my hands on this glass of wine after work my throat was starting to bother me. I chalked it up to fumes at work…Little did I know that in a few days time I’d be in bad shape.

Wednesday.

Mommyland

The best part of my day was finding this bracelet in the mailbox. I had to have it so I would always have a little reminder that if I want something bad enough I can do it. It’s sitting on top of a hair elastic.

Thursday.

Mommyland

By Thursday I was feeling like walking death. I had stopped sleeping since I was up hacking up a lung every night.

I’d been meaning to make homemade granola for ages and for some reason I picked Thursday night to do it. I guess it was the fever that made me do it. The granola was yummy and the guys finished it in no time.

Coming soon see how I made it.

Friday.

Yeah, I’ve got nothing. I was knocking on death’s door by Friday.

Saturday.

Mommyland

Armed with cough drops, tissues and cold medicine we took the boys to see Planes. It. Was. AWESOME!

Sunday.

Mommyland

In case you don’t already know it, this is the most disgusting medicine on the face of the planet. I’m not sure it really even worked either.

Now when week 33 rolled around I was still feeling pretty low but I was forcing myself to try and be up and mobile.

Monday.

On Monday I was virtually begging for death.

Tuesday.

Mommyland

Since I finished my bottle of Tylenol I moved on to the Mucinex with an Airborne chaser. Still feeling like death though.

Wednesday.

Mommyland

Proof that I cannot get sick or even leave the house. THIS is what I came home to.

That is Logan in an old carseat sitting on the lawnmower. Super safe!

Thursday.

Mommyland

I’m still not feeling too hot but I’ve wasted enough time in bed. It’s almost time to go back to school and I have to get a move on.

The boys each got new Sketchers and they came in these really cool little backpacks. Logan could not wait to carry his new shoes around with him.

Friday.

Mommyland

I got my first run in in over a week. It was only two miles on a treadmill but since I’ve challenged myself to run 100 miles this month, every mile counts. Yeah, remember that 100 mile challenge? I certainly have not forgotten about it and now I’ve fallen WAY behind!

What do you do when you have the kids with you and need to relax with a Starbucks? Get them a Starbucks treat too. To reward myself for running we stopped for a quick little pick me up.

Saturday.

Mommyland

What do you do when Bill is away and you need an escape? Take the kids to the Y to shoot some hoops.

They were both excited to try out their new basketballs. Cameron is actually pretty good, he kicked my ass in PIG. Look at that form. Like father like son I guess.

Sunday.

Mommyland

Why yes, I am still using my Vitamix. I’ve come up with an amazingly delicious strawberry shake that fills me up enough to be a meal and is under 400 calories. YUM!

So there you have it, I spent almost two weeks pretty sick, fell behind in my 100 mile challenge, got a few things accomplished and even had a little fun.

How have YOU been?
