Don’t pee into the wind!

9 Oct

A couple weeks ago I discussed my adventures in potty training, and the adventure continues. Since Cameron is new to the whole potty thing he sometimes waits until it’s too late to get to a bathroom. Other times he thinks he has to go and then he stands there with nothing happening.

The other day we decided to go to Highland Orchards to pick some apples and pumpkins. Since it was a weekday, we were allowed to to drive the Jeep out. Of course we go when there’s 15-20 MPH winds with 45 MPH gusts. There we a couple times I thought Cameron was going to blow away.

In the middle of the pumpkins patch Cameron tells me, “My wee wee tickles!” which is his way of letting me know he’s got to go. Usually when he says that we don’t have much time, so instead of trying to throw him in the Jeep and get to a bathroom, I had him drop his pants right there. Of course at that moment the wind picks up, and I wouldn’t know personally, but apparently a 45 MPH gust of wind isn’t something you want to feel on your “wee wee”.

Now what are we going to do? He’s now saying he doesn’t have to go, but I don’t know that I buy it. Making a game out of it, I bring him around the front of the Jeep which was blocking most of the wind. I told him, “Let’s see if you can hit the bumper.” Of course it was STILL too windy for him, so we loaded up and drove back in. I think by this point he was afraid to go since he kept saying he didn’t have to go until we got home where he promptly dropped his pants and went.

Now if only I can get him to poop in the potty too. I’m sure when that happens it will make for some funny stories. Happy Friday, have a great weekend, and remember, never pee into the wind.
