Thirsty Thursday Cranberry Punch

5 Nov

We’re celebrating Logan’s first birthday this weekend and I’ll be making this yummy punch for the big party. Warm Cranberry Punch can be served warm (imagine that!) or refrigerated and served cold. I’m not sure which way we’ll have it this weekend; maybe both ways.

Warm Cranberry Punch

What you will need:
1/2 cup sugar
1 bottle (64 oz) cranberry juice cocktail
1 can (12 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate
4 cups water
3 cinnamon sticks
8 cloves, whole
1 teaspoon allspice, ground
1/4 teaspoon ginger, ground
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground

Directions:
1) Mix all ingredients in a 6-8 quart saucepot.
2) Simmer 30 minutes, or until hot. Remove whole spices, and serve.

If you don’t want to serve this as a warm drink, simply pour it in a pitcher and put it in the fridge until it’s cold. If you need it cold in a hurry, put ice in a plastic bag and put the bag in the pitcher. This smells so great while it’s simmering! Who needs a candle when you have a great fall drink recipe?

Not having a kids party? I’m sure adding some vodka to the cold version would be GREAT!

Happy Thirsty Thursday!
