I need to get my Groove back!

29 Jan

One of my biggest flaws is my inability to be consistent. It doesn’t take much to throw me off my game and it’s forever frustrating me. Since at the present time I seem to be off my game I figured it was a good time to write about it.

I go for a while getting all my chores done; the house is clean, I’m working out, drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, everything is running like a finely tuned machine. Then the “other shoe” drops and it all falls apart. It’s not even the same thing all the time. My usual suspects are vacation, colds, injuries, even Bill being home from work for a few days in a row, but sometimes there’s no real reason at all.

Now I sit here, on the couch, Regis & Kelly on in the background. My dishwasher needs to be emptied, there are dishes in my sink, I have about 6 loads of clean laundry that need to be put away, 2 loads still to be washed, my bedroom looks like a suitcase exploded in it. Bill keeps making fun of me saying that it’s like a scavenger hunt to find a pair of boxers in the morning. I was doing a little workout everyday when I first got up in the morning, that hasn’t happened it about 2 weeks. Water? What’s that?

I have lost my groove, and feel unmotivated to get it back. Despite my lack of motivation, I know I need to get my groove back. I can imagine that Bill is only going to tolerate working all day to come home and have to cook and clean for so long. My plan is to start small (and maybe tomorrow).

Do you ever get out of your routine and have a hard time finding your way back? What do you do to get your groove back? Please comment here or email me at MyLifeInMommyland@me.com.
