Making Memories At Chick-fil-A

23 Aug

Some companies just get it!

Chick-fil-A is one of those companies. OK, I’m not really sure if it’s Chick-fil-A across the board or if my local restaurant (Concord Township) is just exceptional. I have yet to have anything but wonderful experiences there, even the other customers are great. One one of my latest visits I was alone with the boys (oh the horror) and another customer helped me get my kids and our meal to the table during the hectic lunch rush.

Every time I’m there I always have a friendly employee ask if I need anything, offer a refill on my drink or even offer to take our trash. They have no idea how much I appreciate their friendly face even if I don’t take them up on their offers. Chick-fil-A really gets it. They understand that when you have kids, even a trip to a fast food restaurant can be an adventure. The restaurant is always clean and their employees are always friendly and that goes a long way for us parents, and it’s a breath of fresh air from their competition.

Last night the employees at my local Chick-fil-A met and far exceeded my expectations. We decided to treat the kids to dinner out since it was family night and they could eat free. Come on, you know me, I’ll save a buck when I can. Our food was brought to our table by a friendly teenage boy (who knew such a teenager even existed?) who came back later to see if we needed anything. Is this fast food because I had better service there than I’ve had at some sit-down establishments.

After our meal we were gathering ourselves and getting ready to head home, of course the boys had their shades on and were lookin’ fly. Their cuteness didn’t go unnoticed. One of the managers said hello to them and commented on how cool they looked in their sunglasses. She said, “You guys looks so cool I think you need some ice cream!” After getting permission from me and Bill she took them behind the counter and let them make their own ice cream cones. I hope I don’t get her or the restaurant in trouble by writing about it because it was something that will always make me think highly of Chick-fil-A. That manager gave my kids something that is so rare from a fast food restaurant, she gave them a wonderful memory. Cameron and Logan will remember that trip to Chick-fil-A for a long, long time. Getting to make their own ice cream cones will be something that they will look back on with fondness. How many of us can say we had a magical memory made at a fast food joint? I know I can’t.

Thank you Chick-fil-A for being someplace we can take our family for a quick bite and great service.
