Fall Family Fun

16 Oct

Last weekend Bill and I took the kids out for some fall fun. We’re always trying to do fun things to get out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors, so what better way to enjoy this beautiful fall weather than a hayride?

So we planned to have an early dinner at home before we loaded up in the car and braved the Friday rush hour traffic to visit Linvilla Orchards. I haven’t been there in YEARS, but it was even better than I remembered it.

Our first order of business was the hayride. They have two different hayrides, a regular one and one with witches. They’re not scary witches though, they tell jokes and give out cookies.

No scary witches here

The fun didn’t end with a hayride though. After we saw the witches and rode around the orchard, we were treated to marshmallows for roasting and apple cider. I wish it would have been hot apple cider since it was a bit nippy out, but hey beggars can’t be choosers.

Apple cider…YUM!

The fun didn’t end with roasted marshmallows and cider…

Next we were off to pick out our pumpkins. Of course each boy insisted upon pushing his own wheel barrel and we were lucky no one was seriously injured…Those boys are maniacs!

By the time we made it back home, the boys were dead tired and I think they had fallen asleep before their heads hit the pillow.
