That’s right, today is my third blogiversary.

I can still remember writing that first post wondering what would come of this. I was sitting on the couch in the townhouse while Bill was at work.

Logan was only about eight months old and Cameron was three. Life was so different then.

Since that day so much about this blog has changed. I bought my own domain, had a few redesigns, joined a community of other bloggers, and I have found my voice.

When I look back on that first post it was short, sweet and very clear that I had no idea where I was going with this whole blogging thing. Sometimes I’m still not sure, but I have a story to tell and this wonderful platform I can use to tell it.

I haven’t been as consistent through the years as I would have liked to be, but I always came back. Starting this blog three years ago was probably one of the smartest thing I have ever done. I have met so many amazing people through the blogging world and have had so many amazing experiences because I blog. I’ve gotten to try new things and visit new places. I’ve met people who I would have never had the pleasure to call my friends had I not spent that holiday at home on my couch.

In the past three years I’d like to think I’ve gotten better at this writing thing. I’d like to think that I’ve helped someone in some way even if it was just to make them laugh on a bad day. Most of all I’d like to think that I’ve grown as a wife, mother and blogger.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride so far and hang around for some more.

If you’ve been to Mommyland more than once you’ve probably noticed the new look. That’s right people, I bit the bullet and hired a real designer to redo my page. Normally Bill does all my design type stuff but he’s just too busy now and I thought that Mommyland deserved a real design.

So who is the creative genius behind my new look? Nicole from Tech•mom•o•gy Designs came up with everything with little more from me than I liked the colors from the old design and I wanted the Apple logo somewhere in my header. At every step Nicole showed me what she came up with and was very patient as I asked her to tweak a few things here and there. When something didn’t work right, she fixed it. After a few short days this is what I had and I have to say I’m thrilled.

It feels good to have a page I can be proud of. I want to write more thanks to the new look. I’ve spent the past two and a half years bouncing around between different free templates and none of them really said anything about me. I think the new look captures who I am and says a little bit about me.

But wait, there’s more.

The design part is complete, now it’s time to move on to updating the rest of the page. I’ve made a few updates to the about me area already. The Blog Roll is going to get a total overhaul and possibly a new layout. To keep things new and fresh I’m going to rotate through some of my favorite blogs and feature a new top 10 each month. Hopefully you’ll learn to love all the amazing bloggers who I love and am inspired by.
