I’ve been infused with Omega!

22 Mar

Since I’ve started running and doing yoga I’ve also been learning more about what my body needs. I recently started taking an Omega-3 supplement because I don’t eat any fish at all. I also don’t eat a lot of the other foods rich in Omega-3’s like flaxseed, walnuts and beans. While I’m getting better at fueling my body I’m not there yet.

So I started taking GINORMOUS Omega-3 pills…3 of them. Everyday!

Look at the size of these things!

Bill started calling me Nemo because I was burping up fish all day. Gross, right?!?

Then in walked my savior!

Omega Infusion!

Mommyland

When I was contacted to try Omega Infusion I did a little happy dance. I mean how perfect it this, I had just started taking an Omega supplement and hated it. Now I can supplement the supplement with a tasty beverage.

Let me tell you a little about my new best friend.

Omega Infusion is a ZERO calorie, enhanced water that has 80mg of Omega-3’s right in the bottle (25% DV). The best part? No fishy taste!

I’ve started to only take one of those giant pills and I drink a bottle of Omega Infusion everyday.

There’s more to Omega Infusion than just the Omega-3’s though, it also has 80% of 4 different B vitamins so it gives me a little pick-me-up. But wait, there’s more! There is also 200% of the vitamin C you need daily. Can you really ever get too much of that immune boosting antioxidant?

Let’s not forget the most basic benefit of Omega Infusion…Hydration!

So What Do I Think?

I LOVE it!!!

I’ve tried all four flavors and while I have a favorite, I really like them all.

They’re all light and refreshing, the flavor isn’t overpowering at all. With some of the enhanced waters I feel like the taste is either too strong or too light. Omega Infusion is just right!

The very first sip I noticed it had a kind of smooth texture, it was different from water or sports drinks. Different, but definitely not bad.

They say it’s best served chilled and they would be correct. While it’s not bad right off the shelf at room temperature, it’s much better cold.

I was nice enough to share a few sips with Bill and he liked his watered down a bit. Me, I’ll take it full strength. Like I said before, the taste was just right.

I’ve made Omega Infusion part of my running routine too. I drink half the bottle right before I head out and the other half when I get back. I’ve even noticed some improvement in my runs since starting this little routine.

On my non running days I’ll drink a bottle mid afternoon for a little boost. Omega Infusion has fit nicely into my lifestyle.

Where can you find it?

Right now Omega Infusion can be found in GIANT, Stop & Shop and HEB stores.

Once you find a store near you that carries it, it can be found in the water aisle.

You can also find Omega Infusion on the social networks! Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter so you don’t miss any news about this delicious new product.

All in all I give Omega Infusion two healthy thumbs up! I will be stocking up and making it a part of my healthy lifestyle.

Disclaimer: I was given samples of Omega Infusion to try for this review and I was compensated for my time to share my thoughts with you. Those thoughts are, as always, all my own.

Water

Mommyland

Drinking enough water is critical for health. It helps with weight loss and keeps your body running well. Let’s face it, you can’t live without water.

I notice when I haven’t had enough to drink I feel sluggish and tired. It’s amazing how a quick glass of water can perk me right back up. It reminds me of a plant, I forget to water it for a few days and it gets droopy. I give it a little bit of water and I can almost see it perking up before my eyes.

This time of year I have a hard time drinking enough water. It’s cold out and drinking water tends to make me feel a little chilly. Great in the summer, not so great in February.

I try using special cups and water bottles to help me drink more than I would form just a regular glass. It’s just harder for me to get the water I need down so I try any little tricks that might help.

I drink a lot of hot tea in the winter time and I know some of that counts towards my water intake but I like to make sure I drink at least eight cups a day of just plain water.

I am really good about tracking my water intake so I make sure I’m getting enough. I really think that by tracking I am more accountable and it helps to get me to drink what my body needs. Like I said, any little trick that might help.

I use my Fitbit app to help me keep track of the amount of water I drink and there are a few apps out there that do nothing but track water. I’ve even seen apps with alarms on them that will actually remind you to drink. Technology is so cool!

I know that once the spring and summer come along I’ll have no problems drinking a gallon or more of water everyday, but right now I struggle to get what I need to keep me going. The groundhog called for an early spring right?

How about you, do you struggle to drink enough water in the winter months? What do you do to make sure you drink what the amount of water your body needs?
