A Week In Mommyland (Week 13)

1 Apr

And just like that March is gone and with it the first quarter of the year.

We had a busy week this week, with spring break for the boys and my birthday we were so far out of our routine I’m not sure we’ll ever get back.

Monday.

Mommyland

I started my week with a trip, in the snow, to see a specialist about my shoulder. I’ve mentioned here and there that it’s been bothering me and getting progressively worse and I didn’t want to mess around with it. Thankfully it’s nothing that a cortisone shot and a month of therapy (the physical kind) can’t fix.

I have to do some modifications to some of my yoga poses but I’m cleared to run as much as I’d like…YAY!

Tuesday.

Mommyland

I walked in the door from work to be shot in the head with silly string by all three of my men. They were kind enough to yell Happy Birthday while they did it though.

Don’t worry, I got them back moments later when they were naive enough to put their cans down.

I have to say it was the very last thing I expected to walk into when I got home from work. It wasn’t all bad though, they also decorated the entire first floor with balloons and streamers for my birthday.

Wednesday.

Mommyland

My actual birthday.

For the most part it was a day like any other, the boys and I played outside, I got a few things done around the house. The sun was shining and it was warm(ish) so I can’t really complain.

We went out to dinner with my parent’s that evening to celebrate and of course Logan was more interested in Cameron’s hamburger bun than his own dinner. The kid is a total carb hound! I have no idea where he gets that from (wink wink). We finished the evening off with cake and all in all I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Thursday.

Mommyland

This will be the first year that both of the boys are playing soccer and they are SOOOOO excited.

We got them both hooked up with all the gear they’ll need for the season and even picked up one of those pop up goals for the back yard.

There is nothing better than watching them kick the ball around the yard laughing and carrying on (and tuckering themselves out).

Friday.Mommyland

All the boys want to do is go outside. It’s so great to have them out riding their bikes in the driveway instead of beating each other up in the basement. It hasn’t been as warm as we’d like it but we’ve been spending as much time as possible outside in the fresh air.

I guess all that fresh air made Logan tired since he was out cold within minutes of getting in the car to go home Friday evening. He loves to wear his bike helmet and when we got in the car he said he wanted to leave it on, “in case we crash”.

Saturday.

Mommyland

We took a quick break from the outside activities to color Easter eggs. Cameron used the wax crayon to draw a little something on each of his.

I didn’t see this one until later that night but this is him riding his bike. How stinking cute is that?!? The kid loves to ride his bike and is so proud to finally be riding a two wheeler that he wanted to share that with the Easter Bunny.

I’ll smile as I use that egg in my lunch later in the week.

Sunday.

Mommyland

This big day finally arrived and I have to say that the Easter baskets were a huge success this year. I was made fun of (by my mother of all people) for not putting enough candy in and for giving them toothbrushes and toothpaste but I have to say that the oral care products were the big hit in the basket.

They also got new swim trunks for the summer, colored bubbles, a book, a SOLID 100% milk chocolate bunny and a few other pieces of candy.

I was so tired of the same old crap and having a ton of candy in the house so I went a new direction and I think I’m going to make a tradition out of it.

The week flew by and without the benefit of our routine it was a little crazy but it was still a pretty good week. We enjoyed a lot of family time and even though the boys drove me INSANE I kind of liked having them around to play with.

How was your week? Were you on spring break last week or are you just starting this week?
